Training at One World has been the most challenging, humbling, exciting, fun (If you consider Communal Suffering fun... : ) ) and effective training I've done in over 30 years. I'm doing stuff (like Muscle Ups) that I haven't done since college....and I've met more friends over the last year here than in all the other places I've trained.

Crossfit has transformed my life. It helped me get back into shape after undergoing a lower lumbar disc replacement (yeah, I have an artificial disc in my back).

Crossfit kept me in shape after shoulder surgery this past year for an old gymnastics injury aggravated by a skiing mishap.

I wish I had known about crossfit sooner. I am more fit now than I was 20 years ago....

Crossfit is working out and training with a community you care about. You care because of the coaches and athletes that help push you further than you would on your own. The only way to understand Crossfit is to come to the Free Sunday Session at One World. It's at 10am and did I mention it's free. The trainers there will help you perform every movement safely. You will probably be doing the workouts with other people who have never done Crossfit before so there is no need to feel intimidated or scared. It's a relaxed environment and there are no muscle heads with big egos walking around. Just a bunch of cool people working out and having fun.

When asked about Crossfit, I usually say "hmm where do I begin"? After that I begin by saying that Crossfit is a functional fitness/lifestyle program that allows you to push yourself in a way that you have never done before. Crossfit further offers the individual the opportunity to work towards fitness goals through offering non-traditional non-Arnold S. type workouts. Crossfit is like having a personal trainer right there with you coaching you through all the movements. Crossfit covers a wide range of fitness points that helps you the athlete become proficient at many different aspects of fitness. Then I conclude by asking them what they think fitness is and then the conversation goes from there.

Simply put, CrossFit is a highly effective fitness program. It's an excellent way to reach your fitness goals by using movements you can use in real life and the workouts are different from day to day. The actual workouts are usually performed within 30 mins. because they're done at high intensity. However, they can be scaled to your current fitness level to suit your needs. I've worked out side-by-side with people of varying abilities from athletes to seniors and even pregnant women, but I always feel like I get a great workout. The natural movements involved allow you to physically do everything you want to do whether it be excelling in your favorite sport or picking up your great grandkids when you're 90 years old. These exercises will improve your quality of life now and for days to come. Last but not least, Crossfit can be done individually or in a group setting. With a group, you have coaches and classmates to help give you instruction and push you to your potential. Thus, making it a great place to make friends and meet new people.

I’m not a member at ONEWORLD but, have been attending the free Sunday session for about 4 months now, only missing maybe a few. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stoke the fire for a change in my workout routine. Before cross fit I was your typical gym junkie doing functionless exercises that never really help any aspect of my total fitness whatsoever. I thought I was in great shape physically but, I was in for a rude awakening after the first workout! It was exactly the type of training I was looking for. I was impressed with the level of instruction and the overall vibe from the trainers. The website you guys have is informative on other aspects of the body, fitness, and diet but, very captivating with Freddy’s rants and raves. I can really relate to the dialogue that is put up on the site. To say the least I fucking love what you guys got going on over there! In the past four months of attending the Sunday session I have never been approached or pressured into buying a membership. It has been very informal, always about training, and having a bit of fun doing so. I hate being approached by people trying to sell me something!

So thanks to all the Sunday trainers at ONEWORLD!! To take time out of your Sunday and stare at my ugly mug is appreciated!!

I've been coming to One World for the Crossfit Program for over a year now and I can honestly say it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. Since starting at One World, I've met lots of great people, increased my overall personal fitness level and just feel better about myself and life in general. I can honestly say the trainees are friendly and very knowledgeable and the crossfitters are some of the nicest people I've ever met. The prices are reasonable, besides, I don't think you can put a price on your health and well-being. This is definitely a place I think everyone interested in fitness should visit at least once.

I started CrossFit in March 2009 and it has totally changed my life. I am in the best shape I have been in since I played soccer in college, and I am definitely stronger than then! I ran my first half-marathon last month and beat the 2-1/2 hour time I had set for myself. I was shocked! CrossFit confuses your muscles so you don't plateau. The varied workouts ensure you don't get bored too.

But, even more than that is the camaraderie and support we have at One World. I look forward to seeing my friends there every day. There is something about suffering together (in a good way, of course!).

When I have to miss for a few days because of work, I feel disconnected and left out, like I'm missing out on something great.

It truly is life changing. I've never been so excited to get my butt kicked!

One World is a great place to train. All the instructors are wonderful people and make it easier to learn new things. I train more in Krav Maga and I think it's a simple and efficient system to learn. I've also done a little bit of CrossFit and it changes you physically and mentally.
